KAPS Match Fishing
The society runs an active match section and holds a range of 34 matches, throughout the season. Match dates are detailed on the Clubmate membership and KAPS website. Matches are open to all members of the society regardless of age or gender. The Wednesday matches that are for the over 60’s are open to all members but if they are below 60 will not be eligible for the trophy should they win overall. On occasions the matches are invitation only but you can still vent your interest as there could be places available. All Society matches are friendly and informal, help & advise will be given if you are new to match fishing.
The draw for most matches is at 07:45. Any time different will posted under the match scene in Clubmate and KAPS website.
Match organising is carried out by Dave Day with the help from members who fish the matches. A meeting will be arranged once a year to discuss dates, venues and timings. Dave works very hard at setting up the Society competitions. He has been asked on several occasions about what members have to do to take part. It’s very easy – just turn up in time for the draw. You may have to make prior arrangement as some venues are limited to 20 swims. Pools are optional but you will not be eligible for any prize money if you do not enter. Pools are £5 & the club also contributes a further £20 to boost the winnings. Venues are subject to change on the day in the event of flooding etc, this will also be communicated through Clubmate.
So, if you want to join and fish one of our matches, just turn up or drop an email to KAPS and they will give Dave Day your contact details.
