KAPS Trout Section

The KAPS Trout section was formed in 1954 and has two Kent waters at Lullingstone Castle in Eynsford, and at Yorks Hill Farm, Ide Hill. The season runs from March through to the end of November.

Lullingstone Castle Lake is about 14 acres and is the habitat of many species of fly-life, such as Damsels, Pond Olives, Sedge, buzzer & Mayfly. Although it is possible to fish from the bank most of the fishing is from boat of which the Society has a number for use by the members. The lake is stocked on a regular basis with Rainbow trout of around one & a quarter pounds but with occasional larger fish. The Society operates a limited catch and release policy and as such there is a limit on the number of fish that can be caught and taken but there is no limit on the number of days members may fish.

Yorks Hill Farm (Not available for fishing until further notice) – is a lake of about one and a half acres. This fishery is entirely Catch & Release and the lake is stocked  prior to opening and again later in the season.

The Society also has a stretch of the River Darent at Lullingstone that is stocked with brown trout and a full catch and release policy is the rule on the river.
