It is understood that there has been a significant loss of fish at a fishery belonging to another club which is in close proximity to some of our own waters. We would like to take the opportunity to remind all members of the importance in preventing the spread of diseases.
As water temperatures rise in the spring and summer, anglers must remain vigilant to the threat of diseases at all times.
Dry it out!
As anglers we can do a lot to help prevent the spread of these diseases.
When returning from a session always ensure that your nets, mat, sling, cradle, stink bags etc. are thoroughly dried out and ideally left in direct sunlight.
This will help to kill any pathogens that may have been carried on this type of equipment and the UV rays from sunlight have further disinfection properties.
Properly drying your equipment in this way will greatly reduce the risk of spreading disease.
