The Environment Agency have warned us of an outbreak of Blue-green algae on our stretch of the River Beult at Yalding. The affected area is on the upper stretch above the sluice.
The bloom can produce toxins which can kill wild animals, livestock and pets. They can also harm people, producing rashes after skin contact and illness if swallowed.
The whole fishery (both sections) will be closed until further notice is received from the Environment Agency.
